Digital Skills Lab
Training Specialist – Emerging Technologies
Salary from £42,42+ to £50,656 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £54,2+5 pa inclusive of London allowance (pro rata).
The Digital Skills Lab provides LSE students with a range of opportunities to develop their digital skills in a practical and engaging way. Working closely with academic departments, LSE Careers and LSE LIFE to provide a holistic service, the Digital Skills Lab’s mission is to create digitally confident social scientists.
The Training Specialist – Emerging Technologies postholder will work as part of a team of trainers, ensuring that our provision develops students’ AI literacies and embedding generative AI into our teaching provision in effective and supportive ways that enhance learning outcomes and foster innovation.
The role will require the postholder to:
• Work with Learning Development Leads and academic colleagues on the design and delivery of effective and engaging training opportunities that support and enhance students’ academic courses and future employment prospects.
• Evaluate the use of generative AI in learning digital skills, specifically Microsoft 365 and coding.
• Establish good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting and contributing to efforts to integrate new technologies into teaching and learning.
• Maintain and update learning and training content related to emerging technologies.
• Line manage a team of part-time student staff.
Candidates must have excellent communication and extensive experience in designing and delivering digital skills training. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of engaging effectively with new technologies and communicating their value to others. A professional training or teaching qualification is desirable. Experience in line management or supervision is also desirable; support and training will be provided to strong candidates without this experience.
