About the role

Our City Works Team are seeking experienced Truck Drivers to join our Civil Construction and Maintenance teams working across the Wollongong LGA.

As an experienced MR / HR driver, every day will be different to the next as you work through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Along with truck driving, you will assist in construction and maintenance activities whilst providing great customer service and support to enhance our City Works team and visitor experiences.

We currently have 2 available opportunities located at Central Depot - North Wollongong:

Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence Driver
Medium Rigid (MR) Licence Driver
Our truck drivers are an integral part of our team - you will contribute by loading and unloading trailers for towing, securing loads and transporting tool trailers and vans to various work locations. You will possess strong communication skills; a focus on customer service; enjoy variety in your work; and want to make a visible impact in the community!

These are Permanent Full-Time positions working on a +-day fortnight with regular roster days and may include overtime and weekend work as required. Salary from $70,+05.53 to $7+,368.87 per annum plus superannuation. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications).

These positions are physically demanding, and you must be capable of undertaking the duties as described in the job description.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

A current NSW MR Driver's Licence or a current NSW HR Driver's Licence
Previous experience in operating trucks including towing trailers
Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety practices
Recognised qualification in Traffic Control or willing to obtain
Working Near Overhead Power Lines ticket or willing to obtain
A strong commitment to your work and a strong team work ethic
Capable of physical labour associated with truck driving and general maintenance activities
Please note that as part of the recruitment process you will be required to undertake a practical assessment
