The ideal candidate will have significant experience with monthly closing processes, financial forecasting, and budgeting, as well as year-end accounting. They will be highly organized and analytical in their approach to each task.
Responsibilities
• Monitoring and analyzing accounting data to produce accurate financial reports and statements
• Hands-on experience is required for balance sheet finalization, preparation of tax returns from work papers/organizers, and other key tasks
• Reviewing details and preparing systems for new clients, as well as reviewing team work, is a critical responsibility
• Bookkeeping experience is essential
• Year-end tax closings involve recording transactions, journal entries, and reviewing books and records; providing full reconciliations, including bank, VAT control account, director loan account, and S455 tax, is also a requirement
• Multiple client assignments must be completed efficiently
• Preparing financial statements that meet requirements is a key function
• Collaboration with the team head and designated clients on daily functions is crucial, as is the ability to train new resources when needed
• Working with various tax software, including Xero, Quickbooks, Sage, taxfiler, and taxcalc, is necessary, with experience in one or more tax software being a plus
• Familiarity with FRS 102 and FRS 105 for preparing financial statements with appropriate disclosures is also required
Qualifications
• A minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in commerce is mandatory
• Good knowledge of Xero, Quickbooks, Sage, taxfiler, taxcalc, etc. is essential
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
