Job Purpose
• Manage Tax Compliance and reporting for UK companies in TM HCC group
• Supervision of UK Corporate Tax Team
Key Responsibilities
• Responsibility for direct tax compliance obligations (including Lloyd’s and US GAAP tax reporting)
• Manage tax reporting obligations for US GAAP/IFRS (in close coordination with US Tax Function) and UK GAAP Financial Statements.
• Assess, document, and manage uncertain tax positions and related tax risks associated with the UK operations
• Maintain and enhance procedures and controls to comply with SAO provisions
• Advise on the tax implications of potential acquisitions, disposals, expansion, and similar projects
• Proactively monitor and interpret the impact of UK and international tax developments of relevance to the UK operations
• Review of LACDT for Solvency II purposes
• Design and lead the implementation of functional, transactional, or legal entity restructuring as required
• Participate in/lead cross-specialty projects (Tax/Legal/Regulatory)
• Identification and management of tax automation initiatives
• Manage transfer pricing and DPT as it relates to UK operations
• Tax authority relationship management and dispute resolution
• Communicate proactively with key stakeholders in the business, US Tax function, Finance and legal functions (FP&A, Legal Entity Reporting, Legal and Regulatory) and external advisors.

Skills / Competencies
• Ability to research and apply tax law to business transactions and strong project management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to work to tight reporting deadline
• Leader, team builder and team player
Qualifications
• Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) or similar
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or similar)
Experience
• UK and international tax experience in industry and/or in a public accounting firm (UK tax experience essential)
• Experience and knowledge of tax reporting within the framework of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS financial reporting is preferred
• Insurance industry experience preferred
IT Skills (Desirable)
• Alphatax Tax Software experience
• PeopleSoft General Ledger experience
• One-Source Tax Reporting Software experience
