Job Description
We are seeking an accounting professional who has a comprehensive understanding of accounting, bookkeeping, and treasury for US Mortgage Private Lending. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with (QuickBooks Desktop Pro) operations and possess a sound knowledge of its functionalities.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of journal entries and vendor invoices in accordance with US accounting rules and company policies.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding company information.
• Review and process invoices along with providing the resolutions for the invoices and releasing the invoices for Payment and resolve all vendor queries and requests coming via e-mails or through other approved channels.
• Review and validate essentials of valid invoice like supplier details, PO, bank account, invoice Number, invoice date etc and maintain a tracker of the exceptions and follow up to get resolutions for exceptions.
• Coordinate on Bank Payments and receipts, Wire instructions and Bank Reconciliation statements, Cash Management and all other Treasury transactions.
• Independently handle and take complete responsibility of accounting and treasury function of US Mortgage Private Lending company and fulfil all tasks related to this.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of journal entries in accordance with US accounting rules and company accounting policies into (QuickBooks Desktop Pro) Accounting Software and other Applications.
• Make Entries in Excel, accounting software and Loan servicing system. These entries happen in multiple bank accounts and mostly focus on everything that happens during the life of the loan: closing wires, draws, bounces payments, loan sales, fees paid and payoffs.
• Perform daily reconciliations of cash movements between banking records, loan records and general ledger.
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts on monthly basis, to ensure alignment between external records (eg. Asset Management System, Bank Records, Servicer Records) and general ledger, including loan inventory.
• Perform daily reconciliations of cash movements between banking records, loan records and general ledger.
• Collaborate with team members across the Company, including Treasury and Asset Management, and with 3rd parties, such as vendors and customers.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting.
• Recording all the income and expenses.
• Account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
• Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
You must have the following experience/skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• A range of 5-8+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping and Treasury function of US Mortgage Bank or Private Lender
• Experience with (QuickBooks Desktop Pro) is a must. Advanced Excel Skills like Pivot Tables, vlookups, hlookups, macros, etc.
• Demonstrate the ability to review contingencies, Strong knowledge of US GAAP Bookkeeping/Accounting.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentations to senior management, bachelor's degree in finance, MBA, CPA, CA, or other post-Grad Degree a plus.
• Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently.
