Our client seeks a Utility Project Manager to lead or support planning and execution across multiple low to moderate complexity capital projects under $10M. The role will drive scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and risk control while coordinating matrixed teams and stakeholders. Candidates should bring core project management capabilities and experience in utilities, energy, or comparable infrastructure domains. The position requires structured reporting, governance engagement, and disciplined project controls from initiation through closeout.

Rate: $50.00 to $57.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities
• Create, staff, and lead project teams with daily oversight of matrixed members and coordination with functional leaders.
• Establish and maintain stakeholder communications, lead project meetings, and deliver structured status reporting per PMCoE standards.
• Plan project scope, schedule, cost, safety, quality, contracting, procurement, and commissioning strategies.
• Drive estimating, schedule development and monitoring, cost control, vendor selection, and equipment selection.
• Manage execution through design, construction, start-up, commissioning, turnover to operations, and warranty.
• Administer comprehensive project plans including objectives, roles, assumptions, WBS, risk, quality, safety, environmental, security, data, communications, change, and closeout.
Experience Requirements
• Core project management experience in scheduling, milestones, planning, deliverables, phasing, and project reporting.
• Experience managing multiple low to moderate complexity projects under $10M.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Background in utilities, energy, transmission, distribution, substation, or generation; telecom, major construction, or civil engineering experience accepted (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of related experience with an associate degree, or 5 years related experience with high school/GED.
Education Requirements
• Associate degree, or high school/GED with additional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• Certified Associate in Project Management (certification) (preferred).
• Project Management Professional, PMP (certification) (preferred).
• Professional Engineer, PE (license) (preferred).
• Configuration Management II Professional, CM2-P (certification) (preferred).
