We are seeking a Vice President of Client Services to lead executive client partnerships, drive retention and portfolio growth, and oversee the strategic alignment between U.S.-based clients and our global delivery organization.
Role Overview
The Vice President, Client Services is a senior executive responsible for overall client portfolio health, long-term retention, executive relationship strategy, and service excellence across all accounts.
This leader serves as the executive sponsor for key client relationships, partnering directly with CFOs and senior finance executives to ensure IQ BackOffice consistently delivers measurable value.
The VP will oversee the Client Services function, mentor relationship leaders, and collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Product, and Executive Leadership to strengthen client satisfaction and expand wallet share within the portfolio.
This role requires executive presence, operational fluency in finance and accounting services, and the ability to translate complex client needs into scalable solutions across a global delivery environment.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Portfolio Ownership
• Serve as executive sponsor for strategic and high-value accounts.
• Maintain direct relationships with CFOs, Controllers, and senior finance stakeholders.
• Oversee client retention strategy and renewal planning across the portfolio.
• Lead executive-level Strategic Business Reviews for key accounts.
• Identify early risk indicators and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
Client Services Leadership
• Lead and develop the Client Services team (Senior Managers, Managers, and account leaders).
• Establish performance standards, KPIs, and service governance frameworks.
• Coach team members on executive communication, escalation management, and consultative partnership.
• Ensure consistent delivery of IQ BackOffice’s service standards across accounts.
Revenue Retention & Expansion Strategy
• Own portfolio-level retention metrics.
• Partner with Sales to drive structured account expansion initiatives.
• Identify service gaps and expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
• Support contract negotiations and pricing strategy for renewals.
• Drive disciplined account planning processes across the team.
Operational & Global Alignment
• Collaborate closely with global delivery leadership to ensure client expectations align with execution.
• Travel to delivery hubs to strengthen strategic alignment and partnership.
• Resolve complex cross-functional issues that impact client relationships.
• Provide Voice-of-the-Customer insights to Product and Executive Leadership.
Strategic & Organizational Leadership
• Contribute to corporate strategy discussions related to service offerings and client segmentation.
• Develop scalable frameworks for account governance, executive reporting, and portfolio management.
• Influence roadmap decisions related to technology, automation, and service evolution.
• Represent IQ BackOffice in executive client meetings, industry events, and strategic discussions.
Required Qualifications
Experience
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Client Services, Strategic Account Management, or Enterprise Relationship Leadership within BPO, outsourced accounting, F&A services, or managed services environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-level client portfolios.
• Proven track record of driving client retention and structured account expansion.
Industry Expertise
• Deep understanding of end-to-end accounting operations (AP, AR, GL, Reporting).
• Experience working within global delivery models.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
Leadership Competencies
• Strong executive presence and ability to influence C-suite stakeholders.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing client-facing teams.
• Skilled in high-stakes negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Strategic thinker with strong operational execution discipline.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required.
• MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
