Job Description
Our client, a high-volume private label apparel company with significant business at Walmart, is seeking a VP of Production to lead global production operations and drive execution across all categories. This role will oversee end-to-end production, ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and quality standards across a complex, fast-paced supply chain.
Responsibilities
• Lead global production strategy across private label programs, with a strong focus on large-scale retail partners
• Oversee all aspects of production from order placement through final delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and margin targets
• Manage and develop a high-performing production team; establish clear processes, accountability, and communication across departments
• Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas vendors and factories, primarily in Asia
• Partner closely with merchandising, design, and sourcing teams to align on seasonal calendars, costing, and production flow
• Monitor WIP, T&A calendars, and bulk production to proactively address delays or risks
• Ensure compliance with retailer standards, including testing, packaging, and labeling requirements
• Drive cost negotiations and margin improvement initiatives across all programs
• Travel overseas as needed to visit factories, oversee production, and strengthen vendor partnerships
Qualifications
• 10+ years of production experience within apparel, with a strong background in private label
• Deep experience working with Walmart is required
• Proven leadership experience managing production teams in a high-volume environment
• Strong knowledge of overseas manufacturing, full-package vendors, and import production processes
• Expertise in costing, margin management, and production timelines
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed
