Pacific Ropes is seeking a dedicated and experienced IRATA Level 3 Supervisor & Trainer to make a meaningful impact both on-site and within our training centre. We also welcome applicants with IRATA Level 2 technicians who are close to achieving their Level 3 hours. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress to Level 3, with Pacific Ropes covering the cost of certification. This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career, take on supervisory responsibilities in the field, and contribute to training the next generation of rope access technicians.
You will rotate between the field and the training centre based on operational needs, with your leadership and supervisory responsibilities remaining constant, ensuring safety, quality, and the growth of your team in every setting.
What you will be doing in the role
Level 3 Supervisor (Field Operations)
Lead and supervise rope access crews on industrial and construction projects
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with IRATA, WorkSafeBC, and company safety standards
Conduct daily safety meetings, FLRAs, and review RAMS and rescue plans
Coordinate site logistics, mobilization, and project execution with management
Monitor productivity, safety, and quality of work on-site
Complete daily reports, safety documentation, and progress updates
Act as the main point of contact between crews, clients, and management
Mentor and support Level 1, 2, and 3’s technicians, promoting skill development
Maintain equipment standards both on-site and in the warehouse
Identify and resolve site issues proactively and adapt to changing environments
Trainer (Training Centre & Development)
Delivering IRATA training (Levels 1, 2, and 3) and other work-at-height programs
Support practical and theoretical instruction using a variety of teaching methods
Provide coaching, feedback, and mentorship to students
Help evaluate student performance and readiness for certification
Developing and improving course materials and training delivery
Ensure training aligns with IRATA, SPRAT, and safety regulations
Maintain training equipment, facilities, and a safe learning environment
Support administrative tasks such as course documentation and student tracking
What we are looking for
IRATA Level 3 Certification (or Level 2 with hours to upgrade)
Minimum 2+ year experience as a Level 3 (preferred)
Must have valid First Aid, CSTS, fall protection, and WHMIS certifications
Strong knowledge of IRATA, SPRAT, and WorkSafeBC standards
Experience supervising teams in industrial or construction environments
Passion for training, mentoring, and developing others
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Adaptable, proactive, and able to work in both field and training environments
