What You'll be doing
These roles offer successful applicants the opportunity to work as part of an already large Renal Department in the SWSLHD to help establish a new Renal Transplantation Unit. The role will be responsible for streamlining the pretransplant process, donor assessment, coordinating relevant services to facilitate renal transplantation as well as establishing post-transplant care. The post-transplant care will involve both the immediate post discharge care as well as long term care. These roles, as a secondary purpose, will also be involved in general nephrology care of inpatients and outpatients.This role will report to the Director of Kidney Transplant SWSLHD. However, will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to apply best current evidenced based medicine in optimizing the outcomes of patients undergoing renal transplantation. The role will provide clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under your care. This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.
Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award
Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice in all aspects of renal transplantation. Demonstrated research in the area of renal transplantation and demonstrate the capacity to undertake ongoing research at SWSLHD. Attainment with a higher degree is preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff
Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development
Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level.
Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD on-call roster.
Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
