Job Description
Responsibilities include:
Working with on-site Terra contracted labor to assist in equipment installation or removal.
Troubleshoot and carry out equipment maintenance requirements on a periodic basis.
Work with Terra operations staff on site and identify/contribute to Terra’s Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Improve skill set and knowledge by taking industry and Terra-sponsored training programs.
Focus on safety practices and policies while undertaking day-to-day tasks associated with the job or work site tasks.
Building ancillary equipment as needed (pipe, hoses, lift stations, cords); and various other duties as required.
Experience in MBR wastewater treatment systems is considered an asset.
Repair PVC, ABS, and metal plumbing.
Handling water and wastewater treatment chemicals.
Interpret lab results to identify inefficiencies in the operation and correct as necessary.
Inspecting ancillary equipment (lift stations, hoses, heat trace, etc.) at least once every 12 hours.
Accountability and decision-making skills:
Issue PO's to field contractors as required for on-site services. PO’s to be approved by the Terra office.
Demonstrated experience in responsible financial, budgetary and cost decision-making.
Education and experience:
Level 1: 1-2 years in the remote work camp equipment operations or maintenance. Approved Level 1 Wastewater treatment operator certification and Level 1 or higher Water Treatment Operator Certification
Level 2: 2-5 years in the remote work camp equipment operations or maintenance. Approved Level 2 Wastewater treatment operator certification and Level 2 or higher Water Treatment Operator Certification
Level 3: 3-5 years in the remote work camp equipment operations or maintenance. Approved Level 3 Wastewater treatment operator Certification and Level 3 Water Treatment Operator Certification
Other skills and competencies:
Valid Driver’s License and Safety Tickets. Current 3-year driver’s abstract is required.
Must be reliable and punctual.
Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
Organized and the ability to multi-task.
Ability to meet job requirements with little daily supervision.
Ability to organize and maintain accurate equipment files.
Interest in keeping current with government regulations and industry requirements.
Excellent attitude toward workplace safety.
Computer knowledge, skills in Word, Excel, Outlook.
Good Mechanical Aptitude.
