This is a full time, fixed term vacancy available for twelve (12) months, commencing as soon as possible.

About the role

The Adult Male Prisons Directorate plays a key role in the achievement of the Strategic Platforms for Corrective Services by providing essential services and legislative compliance. The Directorate takes a systems approach to custodial management whereby it oversees the management of all adult prisons, work camps and associated prison industries.

The Work Camp Manager is responsible for the State-wide business planning and development of work camps. The position organises and coordinates work camp operations including but not limited to encouraging work camp attendance by prisoners, their community activities, budget monitoring, and resource allocation.

Furthermore, the position project manages the implementation of new work camps, including site selection and contract management associated with the project. The Work Camp Manager also undertakes policy review, ministerial inquiries and work camp program evaluation.

Demonstrated experience and good negotiation skills in the context of developing business opportunities into projects and collaboration with a range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to provide expert guidance on the development and execution of programs.
Proven experience in managing projects, including planning, execution and contract management.
All of the remaining Essential Selection Criteria listed on the JDF will be assessed at a later stage in the recruitment process.

Subsequent Vacancies
