Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Work-Integrated Learning Coordinator to join Te Wāhanga Aronui - Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences team on a permanent, part-time basis. The role is based in our Kelburn Campus in Wellington.

Work-integrated Learning (WIL) at the University means an educational approach that focuses on the integration of a student’s theoretical knowledge and work-focused experience and typically refers to internships, placements and practicums.

The WIL Coordinator is responsible for the set up and ongoing development of all activities relating to industry engagement for learners undertaking study within the suite of programmes taught through Te Wāhanga Aronui - Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS). This role supports the negotiation and organisation of a range of activities that support course learning objectives, wide-reaching industry engagement and the delivery of an exceptional student experience.

Key responsibilities:

Work with the Senior Advisor, WIL and Employability, to identify and manage the full range of WIL activities across all programmes in the faculty, enhancing the engagement and employability of students.
Coordinate WIL activities ensuring they are managed, recorded, evaluated and supported in line with best practice.
Ensure systems are in place so students have a positive and supportive experience throughout their degree with the University and throughout their engagement with industry.
Manage and build relationships with multiple stakeholders, including NGO, business and government community, professional bodies and alumni to enable a rich WIL portfolio is maintained.

Well-developed organisational abilities, demonstrating initiative in work planning and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines.
Outstanding communication and networking skills with the demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Experience in end-to-end event management with a focus on coordination, logistics and communications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, proven data management experience, and the ability to learn new systems.
Experience producing high quality documents, detail-conscious and compliance focussed.
A relevant tertiary or equivalent level qualification.
Experience working in a tertiary education environment or a background in WIL or learning design is desirable.
Experience working with Learning Management Systems/Nuku and/or the InPlace systems is an advantage.
