UG Consultants Ltd, based in central Auckland, is looking for an experienced Accountant to join our professional team.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file GST returns, PAYE returns, and other statutory filings for our clients.
Assist with financial reporting, including the preparation of profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Prepare budgets for specific business purposes as required by clients.
Prepare and lodge income tax returns for both companies and individuals (including shareholder-level tax matters).
Provide support and advice on tax compliance and planning in accordance with New Zealand regulations.
Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure clients meet their financial reporting obligations.
Liaise directly with clients to understand their business needs and provide proactive, value-added solutions.
Key Requirements:
A Bachelor's or above degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years' accounting experience (New Zealand experience preferred).
Solid understanding of New Zealand’s taxation framework, including GST, PAYE, and income tax.
Experience preparing financial statements, tax returns, and budgets for a variety of clients.
Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in common accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple client files simultaneously and work to deadlines.
