Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Head to join our team in the apparel manufacturing and retailing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the all financial and accounting operations of the company, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate quantitative financial information (financial position, liquidity and cash flows) to the management team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for developing and implementing financial plans and strategies (budgets, forecasts, and financial models), that provide insight into the company's financial performance, to achieve the company's goals.
• Develop, implement and comply with financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
• Ensure that financial controls are in place and operating effectively.
• Ensures compliance with all financial regulations, including taxes, accounting standards, and other applicable laws.
• Manage the accounting and financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
• Oversee the company's banking and cash management activities, including maintaining relationships with banks and other lending organizations to obtain the best lending rates
• Reconcile and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensure timely invoicing, follow-up on collections, and timely payment to vendors.
• Monitor and maintain the company's credit rating.
• Manage payroll processing and taxation.
• Manage inventory accounting, work closely with operations teams to optimize inventory levels, minimize waste, and improve profitability.
• Work closely with auditors to ensure the company's financial statements are accurate and comply with applicable regulations.
• Prepare, audit and analyze financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial statements required by internal (the management team) and external stakeholders.
• Analyze cost structures, identify areas for improvement, and work with the operations team to implement cost-saving measures.
• Provide financial insight and analysis to support decision-making processes.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team for efficient and effective working environment and provide guidance and training when necessary.
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.
Requirements and skills:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the apparel manufacturing and retailing industry in India
Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations
Experience with general ledger functions
Hands-on experience with accounting software like Tally ERP +
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office including Vlookups and pivot tables
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong leadership and team management skills
