JOB DESCRIPTION: Revenue Accountant- R2R
About the Position:
The GBS revenue accounting team is a part of the R2R team. Located at our facility in Bangalore, this team works with the Corporate Revenue Accounting team in ensuring that Juniper is compliant with the US GAAP Revenue Recognition Standards.
This position will report to the Finance Manager, R2R and will work closely with the Corporate Revenue Accounting team in Sunnyvale, California.
Key activities performed by the team are: Contracts review and identifying revenue impact, revenue accounting for certain customers, service revenue adjustments, SOX controls, reconciliations, revenue forecasting (in coordination with Theatre Revenue Managers), new revenue standard adherence.
Responsibilities:
• Review contracts, identifying revenue impact complying with the accounting policy and ASC 606 and ensure revenue recognition is appropriate. Book adjustments through JEs, if required.
• Prepare account reconciliations on a monthly basis in blackline.
• Collaborate with TRMs on revenue forecasting and JE preparations.
• Assist in month closure activities like SOX control testing, JE preparations and all other related activities.
• Assist in any additional and ad-hoc activities as required
Minimum Qualifications:
• CA/CPA required; CA with CPA is ideal.
Other Information:
• 2-4 years’ experience in a MNC and / or Big 4 Accounting firms.
• Should have a strong accounting background; sound knowledge of revenue
Accounting in US GAAP is added advantage.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines, strong communication skills & attention to detail
• Experience in shared services organizations would be an advantage
