Job Description
Metronest Homes is seeking a talented and experienced Accountant to join our team in Truganina, Victoria. This is a full-time role that will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial health and reporting of our growing organisation.
What you'll be doing
Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Reconcile bank accounts
Follow up on payments from customers
Issue receipts to debtors on receipt of payments
Maintain expense sheet
Invoice clients as requested by construction team and others
Process payroll
Make supplier payments
Prepare weekly profit margins for house handovers
Chase and report to managing director on aged debtors
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual P/L accounts
Provide forecasting
Prepare wages report
Report on overheads
Compile and present data as related to budgets
Present profit margins analysis to management
Provide information and documents to company accountant
Assist Auditors in preparation of annual company accounts
Bring immediately to attention of management irregularity in data
Make available for inspection all Invoices, Bills and Statements
Maintain leave records of all employees
Manage the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions
Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and other financial reports to support strategic decision-making
Liaise with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and advice
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar financial accounting and reporting role
Strong technical accounting skills and a deep understanding of financial statements and reporting
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in using MYOB, XERO and spreadsheet applications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
