Lapis India Capital (Lapis) is a privately held investment advisor in India, with offices in Mumbai. Lapis has two main businesses – 1) providing non-binding real estate investment advisory services to global institutional investors, club/commingled, discretionary funds with respect to opportunistic investments in India real estate, and 2) providing portfolio management services to clients seeking to invest in public equity in India.
• Role
Lapis is looking to hire an accountant in the Finance and Accounts department who will join the team and work across both the Portfolio Management Services and Real Estate Advisory Services businesses.
• Description
o For Portfolio Management Services
o Client onboarding, KYC compliance
o Reviewing fund accounting/custody operations that have been outsourced to HDFC Bank
o Working with Lapis’ external consultants to ensure compliance with SEBI Portfolio Manager Regulations, 2020
o Working with internal auditors to ensure adequate internal control systems, procedures, and safeguards have been established and are being followed
o Handling PMS operations such as custody instructions, deal files, fund accounting instructions
o Client and SEBI reporting on a monthly basis
o For Real Estate Advisory Services
o Preparation of cash flow statement on monthly basis.
o Processing day-to-day expense payments to vendors.
o Active participation in quarterly book closure of the fund/company.
o Work on consolidation of accounts.
o Working with internal auditors, and statutory auditors for completion of the audit in a timely manner.
o Coordinating with external tax consultants for return filings and refund matters.
o Investor reporting on a quarterly basis.
• candidate should be/have:
• Qualifications: B. Com. and CA (Must).
• Strong work ethic and high integrity.
• Strong communication skills both written and spoken.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Must be proficient in MS office and tally ERP +.
• Ability to work with a small entrepreneurial team, flexibility, and adaptability
• Less than 2 years of work experience; freshers can also apply
