Calling on Associate Finance Controller - Fixed Term Contract

Are you experienced in Finance & Controlling? Do you have knowledge of the Shipping Industry? If yes, you might be our future Associate Finance Controller
Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible to handle end-to end month end closing and reporting for the legal entities with below list of responsibilities –
Perform detailed controlling of operational activities (voyage controlling) and follow up with respective stakeholders with action items
Responsible for all month end closing activities, in compliance with company accounting policies and the application of IFRS
Prepare journal entries monthly by collecting necessary data, analyzing, and preparing audit trail support for the journal entries
Posting journal entries and accounting corrections/reclassifications to ensure accurate accounting records
Coordinate accounting matters with financial controllers and Finance business partners
Responsible for monthly financials reporting and closing of books for entities
Preparation of Fortnightly profit distribution and payment to partners
Perform monthly voyage controlling review and analysis with defined metrics
Perform reconciliation for various segment and accounts and provide explanation for the open items
Handle partner and internal stakeholders’ queries and liaise with them by providing detail information related to payments and reporting
Review month end closing stock and perform reconciliation and necessary adjustment entries
Prepare monthly analysis on P&L accounts and submit to Finance controller
Deal with daily accounting matters
Ensure communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures, and issues
Undertake ad-hoc reporting and analysis requested by management
Record bad debt provision/reversal upon receiving proper documentation
Identify opportunities for process improvements to further streamline accounting tasks, increase efficiency and shorten month end close calendar
Participate in various projects involving our enterprise accounting and reporting system
Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements
Work on regular reporting to stakeholders (voyage controlling reporting)
Conduct regular governance meetings with relevant stakeholders to ensure visibility on the status and actions on the same

What we are looking for
An ideal candidate should be a semi qualified/ postgraduate with minimum 4 years of experience in finance & controlling along with below abilities –
Knowledge of shipping industry will be an added advantage
Good Accounting Knowledge
Analytical and Problem-Solving ability for trouble shooting
Good English communication skills, both written and verbal
Flexible to work for extended hours, as per business needs
Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation
