Job Description : Accountant for a Japanese MNC at Vasai
Position Overview :
As an Accountant for a Japanese multinational company (MNC) located in Vasai, your role will involve managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
You will work closely with the finance team to support the company's financial operations.
Key Responsibilities :
General Accounting : Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including recording financial transactions, verifying and reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate ledgers.
Ensure adherence to the company's accounting policies and procedures.
Financial Reporting : Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Assist in the consolidation and analysis of financial data for reporting purposes.
Accounts Payable and Receivable : Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Monitor outstanding invoices, process payments, and ensure timely collection of receivables.
Collaborate with vendors and customers to resolve any billing or payment discrepancies.
Budgeting and Forecasting : Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process by providing financial data and insights.
Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts, variance analysis, and budget reports. Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide recommendations to management.
Taxation and Compliance : Ensure compliance with taxation laws and regulations. Prepare and submit tax returns, including income tax, goods and services tax (GST), and any other applicable taxes.
Collaborate with external tax consultants, auditors, and regulatory authorities as required.
Financial Analysis : Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to support decision-making.
Conduct cost analysis, profitability analysis, and financial performance evaluations. Assist in financial modeling and scenario analysis as needed.
Internal Controls : Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Monitor compliance with internal control procedures and make recommendations for process improvements.
Audit Support : Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, responding to audit queries, and ensuring timely completion of audit procedures.
Implement audit recommendations and ensure resolution of any identified issues.
Collaboration and Communication : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and procurement, to gather financial data, resolve issues, and provide financial insights.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address queries and provide financial information as required.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role, preferably in a multinational company.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation laws.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
