About the Role:
Accountant is responsible to use your accounting knowledge to ensure that FA/PPD/Intangible transactions are properly record in the correct reporting period with accuracy by collaborating cross functionally with business partners. You should be able to perform deep dives into the underlying accounting assumptions and perform quantitative analysis. You are versatile, motivated, creative, intellectually curious, a strong communicator, analytical and collaborator. As a member of the global accounting operations team, you will provide critical support and collaborate with the corporate global accounting operations team, adherence to policies and procedures and completion of daily operational tasks. The General Accountant also maintains effective internal controls and ensures accounting activities are US GAAP compliant.
What You Will Do in This Role
• Asset value management- asset capitalization, asset depreciation, retirement, and disposal for Fixed Assets, Intangibles and Prepaids
• Responsible for month end accounting journals like accruals and reclasses.
• Professional Judgement of capitalization or expense of certain purchase and asset classification.
• Interaction with external and internal auditors
• Monthly preparation of fixed asset Roll forward information and related reconciliations.
• Monthly Reconciliation of fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the business unit general ledgers.
• Assist with executing special projects.
• Project number management.
• Timely and accurate processing of monthly fixed asset transactions including additions, retirements and transfers.
• Ensure all fixed asset interfaces and other areas are processed/prepared timely and accurately.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset, Prepaid and Intangibles registers.
• Quarterly SEC Schedules like Roll Forwards, Intangible Schedules are prepared and submitted timely.
What You’ll Need to be Successful in this Role
• Previous experience in ERP system- preferably Oracle
• Bachelor’s degree required (in accounting or finance)
• At least three years of experience in accounting, with background in Fixed Asset accounting
• Advanced-level Excel skills, with working knowledge of V-lookups and H-lookups, and exposure to pivot tables
• At least three years of experience in accounting, with background in Fixed Asset accounting
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a dynamic team, along with a positive attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Customer service focus with track record of supporting multiple teams in financial reporting.
