Vaco Boston is currently partnered with a private university north of Boston. Currently, we are seeking a proven Accountant who has experience working within higher education or non-profit. Duties:
• Prepare monthly financial reports for internal and external users and other internal financial information used for various on-campus users.
• Monitor cash flow to provide information on daily cash position and use of resources for providing cash, maintaining compliance with such resources.
• Oversee the internal control functions,, implementing changes as needed.
• Oversee the external audit, preparation of annual financial statements and audit report.
• Ensure compliance and oversight of bond financing and accounting.
Requirements:
• Effective leadership and time management skills with demonstrated abilities to mentor others as needed.
• Proficiency in complex accounting systems and possession of strong understanding of the use and potential of technology in fiscal management.
• Knowledge of accounting standards related to nonprofits and specifically higher
