This role will work a 5/2 roster from the Sydney office with 2 days WFH option available

About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance team. This role is central to delivering high-quality and timely financial accounting and reporting services across Evolution Mining’s operations.
You will be responsible for managing a variety of month end deliverables including preparation of the Group consolidation, analysis of actual vs budget P&L and Balance Sheet results, and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations. . The role also involves preparation of a range of external reporting including the half year and year end financial reports and half yearly JV financial reports, alongside identifying opportunities for process optimisation, and supporting audit and compliance activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Completion of financial accounting journals, Group consolidation preparation and balance sheet reconciliations
Preparation of a range of external financial reporting requirements for the Group
Maintenance of Group financial master data including the Chart of Accounts
Support for half-year and year-end audit processes
Identification and implementation of process improvements across the finance function
Ensuring compliance with Evolution’s financial standards and governance frameworks

About you
You are a qualified accounting professional (CPA or CA) with a strong foundation in financial accounting and reporting. You bring at least three years of post-graduate experience and a deep understanding of financial statement preparation, general ledger processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and consolidation accounting concepts.
You thrive in structured environments and are known for your attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work under pressure. Your communication skills allow you to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and you’re always looking for ways to improve processes and deliver value.
Key strengths you bring to the role include:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems such as Pronto
Strong technical accounting skills and understanding of month-end processes
Experience in mining or similar industries (desirable)
Ability to influence and collaborate across teams
