SUMMARY
The Accountant position is responsible for properly performing various financial tasks related to the Accounting Department in accordance with established policies, procedures, and controls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates month-end closing processes and ensures entries are completed accurately. Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks. Prepares accurate journal entries reflecting proper accrual basis accounting. Prepares and reviews accurate journal entries reflecting proper accrual basis accounting. Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Prepares financial reports. Conducts research of general ledger variances and corrects postings. Ensures accuracy and completeness of fixed assets records including depreciation. Assists with internal and external audits. Works the required schedule with flexibility to meet the needs of a 24/7 business, while physically onsite to interact personally with Team Members and others. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality. Must be able to maintain appropriate Gaming License. Is a role model and champion of Prairie Flower Casino’s Mission and Values. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES Associates degree in Accounting preferred. Three to five years of experience in Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Gaming related auditing experience preferred but not required. Must possess effective communication and organizational skills. Must be computer-literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Must have strong typing and 10-key skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or questions from leaders and others within the company. Ability to effectively present and explain information to others in a clear and concise manner. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form. PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Sound levels within the office are normally low. May be required to access the casino daily where the noise level in the work environment may be loud.
