A gas agency accountant typically handles financial record-keeping, reporting, and compliance for the business. Financial Record-Keeping:
Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions.
Managing accounts payable (paying vendors) and accounts receivable (collecting payments from customers).
Preparing and processing invoices, bills, and e-invoices.
Reconciling bank statements and other financial accounts.
Financial Reporting:
Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet, etc.).
Generating reports on sales, purchases, inventory, and other key business areas.
Creating management information system (MIS) reports for senior management.
Assisting with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Compliance:
Ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations, including GST and TDS.
Preparing and filing GST and TDS returns.
Assisting with internal and statutory audits.
Staying up-to-date on relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Other Duties:
Handling banking operations.
Managing cash flow and recommending strategies for improvement.
Coordinating with external auditors and tax consultants.
Potentially assisting with payroll processing and employee benefits administration.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
Supporting administrative functions of the gas agency.

Proficiency in accounting software, such as Tally.
Strong understanding of GST and TDS regulations.
