Our Toronto office is currently seeking a bilingual Accounting Assistant to join our team.
MDD, A Davies Company, is a specialized forensic accounting firm offering business valuations, forensic investigations and litigation support services. With more than 40 offices on 5 continents, our forensic accountants specialize in a wide range of practice areas.

Our assignments consist of disputes in commercial litigation, family law, fraud, business valuations, business disputes, natural and man-made catastrophes, lost profits, and insurance. Our partners and senior staff regularly provide extensive litigation services and expert witness testimony in courts, arbitrations and mediations throughout the world.
We are looking for a critical thinker with prior business or bookkeeping experience. You will join a team of support staff who are focused on providing a high-quality service to our firm’s employees, Partners and clients across the globe. As you will be joining an evolving team, flexibility and a willingness to learn and collaborate is key. You must be highly self-motivated, detail oriented and capable of working both independently and as a member of a team. This position is hybrid with 3 days required in the Toronto Office.

Description du poste :
Nous recherchons une personne dotée d'un esprit critique et possédant une expérience en affaires ou en comptabilité. Vous rejoindrez une équipe de soutien dont la mission est d'offrir un service de haute qualité aux employés, associés et clients de notre cabinet partout dans le monde. Au sein d'une équipe en pleine évolution, la flexibilité et la volonté d'apprendre et de collaborer sont essentielles. Vous devez être très motivé, avoir le souci du détail et être capable de travailler de façon autonome et en équipe. Ce poste est hybride et comprend trois jours requis par semaine de travail au bureau de Toronto.

Month and year-end close processes
Assets and depreciation
Office Administration
Greeting clients
Check mail and prepare outgoing mail and couriers
Maintain and order office and kitchen supplies
Photocopying, scanning, filing and assisting in annual shred project
General office maintenance – printers, copier, storage room, service calls
Assist with onboarding new staff – office tour and procedures
Grand livre
Encaissements
Conciliations
Allocation par écritures comptables

Administration du bureau
Accueil des clients
Vérification des correspondances et préparation du courrier sortant et des coursiers

Assistance à l'intégration des nouveaux employés : visite des bureaux et procédures

Requirements

Strong critical thinking
An aptitude for numbers
Excellent attention to detail
A desire to learn
Intermediate to advanced MS Excel and MS Word skills
Bilingual - French speaking, reading and writing is required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience in an accounting, billing or administrative role is considered an asset
Prior work experience at a professional services firm is an asset
