Job Overview:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing Cortavo’s accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. This role will focus on ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all financial functions, while also supporting financing initiatives to drive the company’s growth and stability.
The Accounting Manager will lead and mentor the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Coordinators, providing quality assurance, guidance, and process improvements to ensure efficiency and accuracy. This position requires strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and the ability to work cross-functionally with executives, department leaders, and external partners.
The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Chief of Staff.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
Directly supervise the accounting staff, providing coaching, development, and performance management.
Prepare and present accurate financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a monthly basis.
Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and annual departmental budget forecasts and conduct variance analysis.
Perform detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, supporting management in decision-making.
Assist in financing initiatives, including preparing financial forecasts, budgets, and funding proposals to support business growth and strategic objectives.
Manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash balances and identify any discrepancies.
Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations and growth initiatives.
File monthly sales tax returns.
Coordinate with the outside CPA firm on tax filings, audits, and special projects, ensuring timely submission of requested documents.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
Design, document, and improve accounting processes, controls, and SOPs to strengthen efficiency and audit readiness.
Design and implement scalable accounting processes to support company growth and future system transitions.
Ensure discretion and confidentiality in all financial matters, maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
Other duties and projects as assigned by the executive team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on financial analysis and process improvement in MSP companies.
Experience managing or supervising accounting staff.
Proven experience in assisting with financing efforts, including budgeting, forecasting, and securing funding.
Highly organized with a keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
