This opportunity is with their wealth management division that focuses on delivering tailored services to high-net-worth individuals and families, ensuring their real estate investments are managed with the utmost precision and expertise. We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations and reporting for this division.
Accounting Manager Job Summary: The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions of the wealth management division. This role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance to ensure accurate and timely financial information. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, experience in real estate or private wealth management, and a Series 28 certification. This certification is not require to have when applying, but required to obtain when hired on
Accounting Manager Responsibilities
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the wealth management division.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Manage reconciliation of bank statements, ledgers, and investment accounts.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations, including SEC rules and regulations.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Manage/execute weekly external commission processes
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Provide training and support to team members as needed.
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses for senior management and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
• Assist with tax preparation and compliance, ensuring timely filing of tax returns.
• Utilize Series 28 certification to ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements specific to the securities industry.
• Stay updated on changes in regulations and industry standards related to Series 28.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA Certification
• Certification: Series 28 certification required to achieve within first 6 months of hire
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Experience in real estate or private wealth management is a plus.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Strong Excel Skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
