We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant with specialized knowledge of the gems and jewellery industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing complex accounting functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and handling all financial aspects of our import-export (Exim) operations. This role requires a strong understanding of industry-specific RBI guidelines and proficiency in customs portals like ICEGATE. You will be responsible for handling accounts for both of the company branches - one in Seepz and the other in Paperbox.
Job Description:
Communicate and handle accounts for both the company offices.
Oversee all accounting entries related to import and export transactions. This includes managing documentation for foreign trade, accounting for customs duties, freight, insurance, and handling letters of credit (LCs), bank guarantees, and other trade finance instruments.
Manage all core accounting operations, including General Ledger maintenance, Accounts Payable/Receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
Ensure strict adherence to all Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) regulations applicable to the gem and jewellery industry, particularly concerning export realization, foreign currency transactions, and regulatory reporting.
Proficiently operate the ICEGATE portal for filing shipping bills, bills of entry, and other export-related documentation. Reconcile data between customs records and internal accounting systems.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, MIS reports, and other analyses related to inventory, costs, and Exim activities.
Support internal and statutory audits by providing required documentation and explanations. Liaise with tax consultants and regulatory bodies as needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
At least 5 years of proven accounting experience.
Demonstrated, strong expertise in accounting principles.
Chartered Accountant (CA) Certification - Must Have
