Job Summary
Modeling Company in Chicago is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires proficiency in various accounting tasks, including debits and credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our organization.
Duties
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including debits and credits.
Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
Conduct account analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts regularly.
Manage accounts receivable, supporting team for invoicing & collection.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
Perform governmental accounting tasks as required by specific projects or regulations.
Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data for reporting purposes.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to financial reporting.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
Preferred Bookkeeping background or Associate Accounting Degree.
Strong understanding of debits and credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks online is preferred.
Proficiency in Excel & Word
Knowledge of 1099's is plus
Experience in financial report preparation.
Knowledge of governmental accounting principles is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies in financial data.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
