Full Job Description
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
GST
TAXATION
month and end-year process
accounts payable/receivable
cash receipts
general ledger
payroll and utilities
treasury, budgeting
cash forecasting
revenue and expenditure variance analysis
capital assets reconciliations
trust account statement reconciliations,
check runs
fixed asset activity
debt activity
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
Coordinate and complete annual audits
Provide recommendations
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
Assign projects and direct staffto ensure compliance and accuracy
Meet financial accounting objective
Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
Maintaining financial security by establishing internal controls
Avoiding legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing accounting regulations, and recommending new procedures
Maintaining accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts and defining accounting policies and procedures.
Confirming financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; and preparing special reports.
Meeting accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
