Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Intern to join our finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in various accounting functions. The intern will work independently under the guidance of a supervisor, contributing to essential financial processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Assist in processing invoices and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
- Maintain records of all accounts payable transactions.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Assist in generating and sending invoices to clients.
- Monitor incoming payments and update accounts receivable records.
- Follow up on overdue payments and support collection efforts.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Assist in reconciling bank statements with internal records.
- Help identify and resolve discrepancies in bank transactions.
Treasury Support:
- Support cash flow management and forecasting activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all cash transactions.
General Ledger Support:
- Assist in recording entries into the general ledger.
- Contribute to the preparation of month-end reports and analyses.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and reports.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
