About the role
An Accounts Receivable Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that an organization receives timely payment for the products or services it provides to its customers. They are typically responsible for managing accounts receivable, processing invoices, and reconciling customer accounts. The following is a typical job description for an Accounts Receivable Coordinator:
Responsibilities:
Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of payments from customers.
Process and manage invoices, credit memos, and other billing documents.
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
Communicate with customers regarding billing inquiries and payment status.
Generate aging reports and provide regular updates to management on the status of accounts receivable.
Process and manage customer refunds and returns.
Work closely with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payment collection.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all billing and payment activities.
Identify and resolve any billing errors or issues that may arise.
Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
Knowledge of billing and collection procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Certifications such as Certified Accounts Receivable Professional (CARP) or Certified Credit and Collections Professional (CCCP) are often preferred, but not always required.
