Local Unit & Position Description
The Global Centre Finance will deliver high quality services to North American, Asian and Middle East countries related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Record to Report processes. Services will be rendered in close collaboration with the GSS Finance Regional Centres, together developing the Global Shared Service Finance function for DNV.
We are seeking Accounts Receivable Junior/Accountant for the Global Centre GSS Finance based in Pune India.
The Accounts Receivable team will report to the Team Leader. The Accounts Receivable - Accountant is a member of a team of accountants, overseeing all accounts receivable duties of a given geographical region.
To succeed in this role, you are a team player with ability to create an atmosphere of motivation and enthusiasm to be part of building up the Global Centre. You will play a key role in service implementation of the accounts receivable processes.
Key Tasks
• Downloading of bank statements, remittances and ensuring that the cash is applied on time with accuracy/billing and invoicing done accurately/ensuring the manual payments are processed on time and accurately
• Researches on unapplied, unidentified and duplicate payments in a timely manner to ensure customer accounts are current.
• Reviewing of the cash on account and regular follow- up with the collectors and customers
• Ensuring and coordinating with the R2R team and working on all the open items before the month close.
• Weekly review of all the on-account items and ensuring that there is a follow – up for closure and report out any anomalies.
Position Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• 3-5 years of experience in Cash Application and ability to perform in a high-volume environment, adequate knowledge on other areas like billing/invoicing/bank reconciliations/ collections would be an added advantage
• Demonstrated experience with general ledger account reconciliations including month end closing processes and general knowledge of accounting principles
• Knowledge of Oracle preferred
• Previous experience with a Professional Services Company preferred
• Excellent English skills required, written and verbal
• Additional European language skills will be advantageous.
