Accounts Trainee

Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Trainee to join our finance team. This internship is designed for individuals seeking practical experience in accounting and finance operations, with a strong desire to develop a career in accounting. As an Accounts Trainee, you will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and learn how to manage company accounts. This role offers hands-on exposure to accounting software, internal controls, and financial processes, helping you build a solid foundation in accounting principles and practices.Key Responsibilities:1. Bookkeeping and Data Entry: Record financial transactions such as purchases, sales, receipts, and payments accurately in accounting software. Maintain ledgers, journals, and other financial records. Ensure all entries comply with company policies and accounting standards. 2. Assisting with Accounts Payable and Receivable: Support the accounts team in processing invoices and payments. Help monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with clients/customers. Prepare and reconcile supplier statements and customer accounts. 3. Bank Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements with company records. Identify discrepancies and report issues to the accounts manager. Maintain documentation related to bank transactions. 4. Supporting Financial Reporting: Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Assist in compiling data for budget preparation and forecasting. Support internal audits and external audits by providing necessary documentation. 5. Compliance and Documentation: Maintain proper filing of accounting documents and vouchers. Assist in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements. Support the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory submissions. 6. Learning and Development: Gain hands-on experience with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle Financials. Develop understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and company policies. Participate in training sessions and workshops as directed.Skills and Qualifications:Educational Background: Pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related fields. Basic knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS). Technical Skills: Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office (Excel, Word). Basic understanding of financial statements and bookkeeping. Ability to work with numbers accurately and efficiently. Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time management skills. Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges. Effective communication skills.
