The purpose of the (FA&R) team is to provide the results of our operations, financial position and cash flow to management and shareholders to enable effective decision making. The team maintain, process, report and reconcile General Ledger data from various ERP systems into the Group consolidation and reporting tool. In addition they support Group Finance with inter-company matching, the production of statutory disclosures, indirect tax returns and external reporting to various government bodies. They provide a service to the Civil, Defence, Marine, Power Systems and Nuclear sectors globally.
Key Accountabilities
• Report actual results each period end in line with timescales recorded in our service level agreement for review by sector management
• Process and reconcile transactions in the General Ledger ensuring full audit trail documented and all controls are performed in line with local requirements
• Submit various external reporting and statistics to government bodies
• Co-ordinate government grant audits and provide reconciliations
• Quarterly inter-company matching process & also prepare Fixed Asset and AUC schedules and reconciliations
Qualifications and Skills
• Qualified accountant within 5 years of experience with prior FP&A/financial reporting experience preferably within a global company.
• Independently delivering financial reporting for the assigned sectors / business in actual's and external reporting processes to tight timescales, including general ledger processing, reporting and reconciliation activities.
• Support statutory audit including preparation of financial statements, supply data as per requests, answer queries and provide evidence to external auditors.
• Undertake special project work - for example system upgrades, new cloud based system deployment, automation, process improvement.
• Preferred skills - Working knowledge of SAP and Oracle HFM, Excellent written and verbal communication skills, stakeholder management.
