Analyst | Private Investment

The Finance Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable job administers and ensures compliance with accounts payable/receivable processes including assessment of invoice/payment discrepancies. Under limited supervision, this job reconciles and verifies all account balances and collaborates with the collections team on the restructuring of overdue accounts repayment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Verifies accuracy of invoices, shipping documents, customer credit, and payment terms.
• Confirms all cash payments, cash receipts and outstanding account balances to maintain accurate accounting records.
• Enforces timely and accurate processing and payment of invoices to confirm that statements are correctly recorded.
• Conducts payment processes and application to customer balances in the accounts receivable ledger in a timely manner.
• Performs monthly and quarterly close and consolidation processes to ensure timely completion and accuracy.
• Verifies collection activities such as sending follow-up inquiries, negotiating with past due accounts, and referring accounts to collection agencies to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Sends follow-up inquiries and works with the collections team on the restructuring of overdue accounts repayment.
• Provides assistance and training to lower level accounts payable / accounts receivable employees to ensure high-quality and timely completion of projects. Educational Requirements

Major Responsibilities:
• Responsible for quarterly GAAP and IFRS accounting, oversight and financial reporting for alternative investments in private equity fund structures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the financial statements and related footnote disclosure requirements.
• Test and analyze financial information and transactions to ensure data integrity and appropriate treatment.
• Produce clear, accurate, and well-organized documentation to support work performed.
• Assist with preparation of fund and investment performance reporting.
• Assist with accounting research, preparation of technical memos, and coordination with the Accounting Policy team to ensure appropriate application of accounting principles.
• Liaise with external auditors to facilitate the timely completion of audited financial statements.
• Collaborate with partners across diverse business lines, including Asset Management, Risk Management, Valuations, Tax, Legal, Compliance, Product Management, and Treasury.
• Help maintain a sound internal control environment.

Qualifications: BA/BS in Accounting/Finance

Required Skills: 3 - 5 years in Accounting/Finance position

Preferred Skills:
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate preferred
• Experience in investment company accounting as well as agriculture, timber, energy, and infrastructure investments a plus
• Financial statement preparation experience
• Solid knowledge of GAAP
• Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Excellent technical research, communication and writing skills
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and conceptual skills
• Self-directed, self-starter, and motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
