About the role:
We're looking for a full-time Assistant Accountant (Mon - Fri) to join our dynamic team. This role provides exposure across both AR and AP, as well as the opportunity to support process improvements and play a key part in the finance function for our QLD regional branch.
What you'll be doing:
Manage day-to-day Accounts Receivable tasks, including invoicing, payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
Support the Accounts Payable function, including coding expenses, assisting with monthly reconciliations, and processing payments.
Assist with month-end reporting and financial accuracy for our QLD regional branch.
Oversee the use of our expense management platform, reviewing employee reimbursements and credit card claims.
Work closely with the finance team to implement improvements and communicate effectively across departments.
Provide leave cover and general support within the small, collaborative finance team.
What you'll bring:
2+ years’ experience in a similar finance role (construction industry a plus)
Solid understanding of both AR and AP processes
Proficiency in Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software
Strong communication and organisational skills
High attention to detail and accountability
