The role of Assistant Accountant – Payroll will take responsibility for all payroll and accounts receivable processing. This is a hands-on role, will require you to have experience in Micropay, and you will be involved with processing as well as managing all payroll related queries and working closely with the P&C team as required. You will also be working closely with the Finance Operations Manager and UNSW Finance to ensure timely collections of invoices and managing aged debtor balances for all other customers, as well as assisting with month-end process and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and year-end closing process, external audit, and preparation of the Annual Report.
To succeed you will have…
An Accounting/Business Degree
5+ years’ experience in transactional accounting activities specifically processing of end-to-end payroll within a medium to larger organisation
Experience with the Micropay platform is essential
Experience with HRIS systems to be able to manage and resolve payroll related queries from staff
Intermediate experience in general ledger accounting, specifically in AR processing and data entry
The ability to resolve queries relating to general ledger accounting, specifically payroll and AR
Strong administrative, procedural and Excel skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail
