About this opportunity:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance team as an Assistant Accountant.
In this role, you will learn about and be responsible for:
Performing month-end process and journal entries to ensure compliance with deadlines.
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliation for trade debtor, trade creditors, prepayment and clearing accounts etc.
Managing multiple subsidiaries general ledgers.
Coordinating with internal AP/AR teams to ensure timely payments and collections.
Assisting with bank reconciliation and corporate credit cards reconciliation via Concur.
Assisting the Management Accountant to mentor accounts officers and trainees.
Assisting the Management Accountant or Financial Controller with ad-hoc projects and reports.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, to provide financial information and support.

Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in an accounting or related business discipline
Qualified accountant (CPA or CA), or working towards CA/CPA qualification
2 years recent experience in a similar accounting role, ideally in the hospitality sector
Must be experienced in and able to demonstrate proficiency with computerised finance software applications, including Microsoft Excel
High standard of documentation and reporting skills
Ability to work with minimal external assistance
Valid working rights in Australia
You must be 18 years or over
