As an Assistant Manager-Accounts & Finance for a youth-focused fashion brand, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate reporting, strong compliance, and seamless financial operations. The company, which has recently raised their pre-series A funding, is experiencing exponential growth and is seeking a dedicated individual to work closely with the Finance head.
• *Responsibilities:**
- **Accounting & Controllership**
- Lead & manage the accounting department, ensuring an effective bookkeeping process & adherence to accounting principles
- Oversee monthly closure of accounts in line with applicable accounting standards, including provisions, accruals, and period-end adjustments
- **Financial Planning & Analysis**
- Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, update them as necessary & implement financial strategies to achieve the organization's financial goals
- **Taxation & Compliance**
- Handle income tax, GST, TDS & all relevant statutory compliances
- Coordinate with tax authorities for assessments & appeals
- **Financial Reporting & Analysis**
- Prepare monthly management reports and financial statements for internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct regular variance analysis for incurred costs with standard & benchmark costs
- **Treasury Management**
- Oversee cash flows, fund allocation, credit lines and ensure maintenance of optimal working capital
- **Audit & Finalisation of Books**
- Coordinate with auditors for statutory, tax, and GST audits, finalizing financial statements
- **Strategic Financial Management**
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making by senior management
- Evaluate investment opportunities and support in due diligence processes
- **Cross-functional collaboration**
- Work with departmental heads across the business in supporting their financial activities, guiding them through financial processes, and interpreting the progress
• *Good to Have:**
- Prior experience managing end-to-end finance function - bookkeeping, taxation, MIS, etc
- CA with 1+ years experience preferred
- Prior experience working in startups
