Job Description:
Team Management
• Oversee daily operations of the accounts payable department, including assigning and monitoring workloads.
• Train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance performance and skill growth.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Address employee relations issues and support a positive team environment.
Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounts payable processes.
• Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and control.
• Develop, document, and maintain clear accounts payable procedures and workflows.
Vendor Management
• Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with vendors.
• Resolve vendor inquiries, discrepancies, and disputes in a timely manner.
• Establish, update, and maintain accurate vendor master data and records.
Financial Control & Invoice Management
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices.
• Manage and review invoice entry and approval workflows to ensure compliance and timeliness.
• Review and approve invoices for payment.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Tax & Regulatory Knowledge
• Possess working knowledge of TDS and GST implications related to purchases and expenses.
• Ensure correct tax application, deductions, and compliance in accounts payable transactions.
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax laws, and company policies.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices.
• Conduct internal reviews and audits to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
Experience
• Minimum 5–6 years of experience in Accounts Payable, handling end-to-end AP operations.
• Proven experience across all core AP functions including invoice processing, vendor management, reconciliations, payments, compliance, and month-end/year-end closing.
• Experience managing and developing an accounts payable team.
• Experience in D2C, Beauty, Cosmetics, or Personal Care industry will be an added advantage.
Technical & Functional Skills
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and controls.
• Working knowledge of TDS and GST implications on p urchases and expenses.
• Experience in process improvement, automation, and SOP development.
• Ability to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in AP operations
Education / Qualification
• Postgraduate degree / MBA in Finance or equivalent qualification.
