Our client is a leading large-scale media and entertainment organization operating multiple high-visibility brands and digital platforms across India. The finance function is centralized and plays a critical role in supporting high-value spend categories including Content, Marketing, Technology, G&A, and Capex.
This is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the Deputy CFO.
Role Overview
The Associate Vice President - Finance will lead and transform the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Accounts Payable ecosystem across entities.
The mandate goes beyond operations - this role will drive automation, strengthen governance frameworks, improve working capital efficiency, and build a high-performance AP function.
Key Responsibilities
1. P2P & Accounts Payable Leadership
- Own end-to-end P2P operations including invoice processing, vendor payments, expense accounting, reimbursements, and fixed assets
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls
- Improve TAT and operational efficiency across the AP function
- Drive automation initiatives within P2P workflows
2. Automation & Process Transformation
- Drive automation initiatives within P2P workflows
- Reduce manual dependencies and strengthen system-based controls
- Enable data-driven dashboards and MIS for monitoring performance
3. Financial Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards, GST, TDS, and statutory regulations
- Enforce Chart of Authority and internal control frameworks
- Strengthen audit readiness and documentation standards
4. Budgeting & Spend Oversight
- Work closely with FP&A and Business Finance teams to align spend plans
- Monitor budget utilization across key cost heads
- Provide visibility into cost trends and variance analysis
5. Working Capital & Cash Flow Management
- Forecast fund requirements and manage payment planning
- Partner with treasury/banking teams to ensure timely vendor settlements
- Optimize vendor payment terms in coordination with sourcing teams
6. Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a large AP team (including outsourced/shared services models)
- Assess skill gaps and build capabilities
- Foster a culture of accountability, process discipline, and continuous improvement
Candidate Profile
- Chartered Accountant with 10-15 years post-qualification experience
- Strong experience in leading large-scale P2P/Accounts Payable functions
- Proven track record of driving automation and process transformation
- Experience working in large, structured organizations (shared services exposure preferred)
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, GST, TDS, and compliance frameworks
- Hands-on experience with SAP (FI/CO & MM preferred)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
