Straightline Motor Group (“SMG”) is seeking a full-time Dealership Controller (“Controller”) at Straightline Kia in Calgary, Alberta. Straightline Kia is centrally located in the heart of the Calgary Auto Mall with a fresh new image is an award winning dealership receiving Kia Dealer of the year for the last seven consecutive year. The Controller will live and demonstrate our core values in all daily activities while demonstrating the ability to maintain the accounting functions and financial reporting for the dealership.

Job Overview
The Controller reports to and takes direction from the Chief Financial Officer and the Corporate Group Controller. The primary responsibilities for the Controller are:
Manage multiple daily accounting functions such as journal entries, bank reconciliations, AR, AP, intercompany entries, etc.
Complete full cycle accounting and month end functions
Prepare monthly financial statements and ensure reporting deadlines are met
Prepare bank deposits, EFT’s, cheque runs and weekly cash reports
Handle the processing and posting of vehicle purchases and sales
Prepare and post payroll and related remittances
Completion of other payroll related functions such as managing employee files and access, benefits, WCB, and T4’s
Reconciliation of bonuses payable, commissions, accrued expense, prepaid expenses, capital assets, floorplan, and warranty statements
Assist with and prepare adjustments for annual inventory count
Follow company policies, procedures and processes
General administrative duties
Educational Requirements:
Accounting Diploma required
Bachelor of Commerce with a major in accounting preferred
Experience in the accounting field would be considered an asset
CPA or CPA Candidate is preferred
Automotive industry experience would be considered an asset
Knowledge and understanding of applicable federal, provincial and local regulations and laws pertaining to the automotive industry
