Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Technician to join our partners' busy workshops in the UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle diagnostics, repair, and maintenance, coupled with a passion for automotive technology and a commitment to delivering exceptional workmanship. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment and a diverse range of vehicles, contributing to the success of our partners' service departments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, identifying complex faults accurately and efficiently.
• Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and comprehensive mechanical work in accordance with manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
• Mentor and support junior technicians and apprentices, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster their development.
• Accurately document all work carried out, including parts used, labour time, and diagnostic findings, utilising dealership management systems.
• Liaise effectively with Service Advisors and Workshop Managers, providing clear technical explanations and updates on vehicle status and repair requirements.
• Proactively keep up-to-date with the latest vehicle technology, manufacturer updates, and industry training, ensuring continuous professional development.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and highly efficient work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and dealership policies.
• Assist in quality control and final checks on completed work, ensuring all repairs meet the highest standards before vehicle handover.
• Uphold the dealership's reputation through excellent workmanship, professionalism, and outstanding customer service.
Qualifications and Experience:
• A recognised qualification in Automotive Technology, Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, or a related field.
• Proven experience (typically 3+ years) as an Automotive Technician in a dealership or reputable independent garage setting.
• Demonstrable expertise in advanced vehicle diagnostics and the use of diagnostic equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent fault-finding skills across various vehicle systems (engine, transmission, braking, electrical, etc.).
• Experience with specific vehicle brands/types is a plus (e.g., German, Japanese, electric vehicles), but not essential if strong general experience.
• Proficiency in using workshop management systems and digital diagnostic tools.
• A valid driving license is essential.
