Job Description
At Cylo, our strategic approach to cyber risk management underpins how we design products and engage clients. As a Business Development Underwriter Cyber, youll help deliver this mission by underwriting complex cyber risks and supporting broker distribution, sales, and retention activity across the Southern Region. Youll manage key broker relationships, support onboarding and education, and maintain Salesforce to ensure clear pipeline visibility. Youll act as both a technical expert and a market-facing representative, providing insights and training that strengthen broker capability. Working closely with the Head of Underwriting, youll contribute to referrals, renewals, quality assurance, and Cylos future assurance and digital distribution strategies. A company car is provided, and interstate travel is required. This is a permanent full-time role based in Naarm (Melbourne).
What Youll Do
Underwrite complex and emerging cyber risks to drive profitable growth and strong portfolio performance. Lead broker engagement across the Southern Region, strengthening strategic relationships to support growth, sales, and retention. Deliver broker distribution strategies, including pipeline development, lead management, and Salesforce opportunity conversion. Support broker onboarding and capability uplift through training, insights, and value aligned propositions. Manage key broker accounts and ensure delivery of Broker Partnership Agreement commitments. Provide technical underwriting guidance and partner with the Head of Underwriting on referrals, renewals, and risk selection. Identify opportunities to enhance digital distribution and contribute to Cylos future state assurance strategy, while representing Cylo at industry and broker events.
What Youll Bring
5+ years senior underwriting experience in cyber insurance or related financial/professional lines. Strong technical knowledge of cyber risk pricing, selection, and product design. Proven success building and managing broker relationships. Commercially minded, with experience delivering retention and growth strategies. Proficient in Salesforce CRM and confident using data to support decisions. Tertiary qualifications or cyber insurance accreditations preferred. Commitment to ongoing technical and professional development.
