Clinical Nurse Specialist - Mental Health
This is a Permanent Part Time appointment at 48 hours per fortnight.
Position Profile:
Become a pivotal force in the care of young inpatients facing complex mental health challenges, including eating disorders, chronic fatigue, and functional disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
Specialized Clinical Leadership: Conducting comprehensive risk assessments, developing tailored distress tolerance techniques, and providing vital family support to optimize patient outcomes.
Education and Mentorship: Acting as a clinical leader, delivering essential education, training, and supervision to both nursing and medical staff.
Quality Improvement and Innovation: Driving initiatives to enhance patient care, participating in research, and contributing to service development.
Integrated Care Collaboration: Fostering seamless collaboration with Eating Disorder Services (EDS), CAMHS, and other key stakeholders to ensure comprehensive patient care transitions.
Effective Communication: Maintaining open and effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, families, and external services to facilitate seamless patient care.
About the Department:
The Adolescent Medicine unit is a specialised ward designed to provide comprehensive medical, psychological, and social care for adolescents (typically aged 12–16) who require hospitalisation.
We focus on addressing complex health concerns including chronic medical conditions, eating disorders, mental health concerns, substance use issues, and acute medical conditions that require age-appropriate care.
