Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in creating and implementing budgetary and accounting policies
Prepare financial statements for internal and external reporting
Conduct audits, financial investigations, and prepare related reports
Advise on business matters such as purchases, sales, mergers, and capital financing
Review and analyse operating costs, income, and expenditure
Ensure financial reports are accurate and comply with statutory requirements
Provide financial and taxation advice for business planning and operations
Prepare and lodge tax returns for individuals and organisations
Liaise with banks and brokers for financial and investment arrangements
Introduce and manage accounting systems and software
Maintain strong internal control systems and compliance processes
Assess cash flow and financial risk for investment decisions
Support management with forecasting, pricing, cost control, and decision-making
Preferred Background:
Qualification in Accounting or related field (Bachelor’s degree or higher)
CPA or CA certification preferred (or working towards)
Experience in financial reporting, auditing, and compliance
Familiarity with accounting software and systems
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
High attention to detail and ability to meet reporting deadlines
At least 1 year of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in the international education sector.
Proficiency in using student management systems for administrative and financial tasks
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of PRISMS enrolment and tuition fee reporting.
Experience in Tuition Protection Service (TPS) reporting and compliance.
