As a key player in the financial services marketplace of Northern Ontario we are excited to announce that we are currently seeking a Data Governance Analyst.
The Data Governance Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant reporting to the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Ontario. This position supports the development and implementation of robust data governance policies and reporting frameworks, promoting data integrity, consistency, and reliability across the organization. By upholding regulatory standards, the analyst helps safeguard the credit union’s compliance and supports informed, data-driven decision-making.
The Data Governance Analyst role involves validating and reconciling data, maintaining documentation, and supporting audits for evolving requirements. Additionally, the analyst monitors data quality and maintains key data assets such as data dictionaries and glossaries. Acting as a liaison between business units and data teams, the analyst ensures reporting needs are met and promotes data governance best practices across the organization.
Preferred candidates will possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
Professional certification in data governance, data management (e.g., CDMP), or regulatory compliance is an asset.
3+ years of experience in a data governance, compliance, risk, or reporting role, preferably within a financial institution or credit union.
Strong understanding of data governance principles, data lifecycle management, and data quality frameworks.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL) and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI).
Familiarity with core banking systems and financial data structures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
