James Hargreaves is amongst the largest independent plumber’s merchants in the UK. We are a family run business with big ambitions to expand our branch network. We are looking to recruit a Branch Assistant / Delivery Driver to work at our Portishead branch. The successful applicant will be working as part of a small, dynamic and friendly team.

The Main role will requiring to pick and load the vehicle with help from the staff. After the deliveries are done you will be required to pick deliveries for the following day and load the van. There will be general warehouse work (goods inwards) and with experience you will be required to help out on the Trade Counter

Branch Assistant / Delivery Driver Role & Responsibilities
• Customer deliveries in company transit van. Picking & Loading deliveries, delivering to Tradespeople, sites & general public houses. Fill out the Daily check sheet of the vehicle & delivery sheet.
• Serving customers on the trade counter & showroom (when experienced) and providing excellent customer service
• Goods in/out responsibilities
• Liaising with suppliers
• General warehouse duties
• Processing orders
• Customer order picking
• Dealing with telephone enquiries
• Preparing customer quotations

Requirements for the role
• Positive attitude and great work ethic
• Full UK driving licence (Required)
• Ability to work under pressure
• Flexible
• Self motivated
• Initiative and problem-solving abilities
• Basic numeracy and literacy
• Willingness to learn and experience all aspects of the business within the branch.

Salary: Monday to Friday 42.5 - 47 hours per week (£26984 - £30789 PA) depending on the branches requirement, 30mins Unpaid Lunch break. - Saturday Mornings (When required )
